LucasArts and TT Games are continuing the LEGO video game franchise after last fall’s LEGO Indiana Jones 2 by returning to the Star Wars universe for LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars.
The Cartoon Network’s animated Clone Wars television show marks the first time LEGO Star Wars has ventured outside the feature films for inspiration. The game will span episodes and events from the first two seasons of The Clone Wars which are full of character possibilities ranging from bounty hunters to Mandalore Warriors. Select characters from the theatrical films will also make an appearance.
New features include a head-to-head battle mode and new abilities such as Squad command, Lightsaber slicing, Lightsaber jumps, long distance Jedi attacks and Grapple Tie-Ups. The level builder that debuted in LEGO Indiana Jones 2 returns with some enhancements allowing for the creation of customized bases and in-game battlefields.
LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars hits stores this fall for Xbox 360, PS3, Nintendo Wii and DS, PSP, and Games For Windows.
