The Muppets marketing team outdoes themselves again with yet another brilliant entry in their ongoing spoofing of Hollywood’s body of recent work.
For their latest stop, the Muppets have jumped into the Twilight phenomenon to ask the question, Team Vamphibian or Team WereRowlf? In ‘The Muppets Saga’ posters, Kermit steps into the Robert Pattinson role as Vamphibian, everyone’s favorite piano playing dog Rowlf as the Taylor Lautner spoof WereRowlf, and Miss Piggy takes her best Kristen Stewart stab as Bella Swine.
I have to point out that technically Kermit doesn’t have the right color eyes to pull off Edward Cullen. And those fangs look like they belong on The Count. Speaking of which, shouldn’t he be in here as daddy Cullen or something?
Previous pop culture spoofs to promote The Muppets movie have included Green Lantern and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, amongst others. This should be the final spoof material we see unless the Disney marketing gang has one more trick up their sleeves.
The Muppets arrive in theaters on November 23, five days ahead of Summit’s The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1.
