Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron Square Off in Snow White Clips

Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron Square Off in Snow White ClipsKristen Stewart lets Charlize Theron (Prometheus) get under her skin in one of two clips from Snow White and the Huntsman, one of this summer’s wildcard films that could blow away estimates and ride positive word-of-mouth to riches for Universal Studios.

In the first Snow White and the Huntsman clip, an armored Snow White confronts the Evil Queen in what appears to be the Queen’s main hall. The brave – or stupid – warrior has a small army and the Huntsman (new father Chris Hemsworth, The Avengers) at her back, but the Queen quickly drops pieces of what appears to be some type of glass ceiling on top of them using her magic.

Shards of scrap don’t really phase the soldiers who simply raise their shields and deflect the Queen’s attack. Moments later, the rubble scattered around the soldiers turns into giant creatures and Snow White is left feeling like Luke Skywalker watching his precious rebel fleet getting pounded through the window of the Death Star II.

Speaking of Star Wars moments, the Queen trips Snow White’s trigger by bringing her family into the quarrel, just like the Emperor does Luke’s, sending Kristen Stewart charging and screaming at her calmly maniacal nemesis. This is the first time we’ve seen Stewart as Snow White do anything other than look lost or scared, so it’s good to see Stewart have a little fight in her to take on the clearly more powerful Queen.

In the next clip, a drunken Huntsman gets kicked by a horse and ends up tossed into some nasty water. He awakes to find himself in the presence of the Queen’s guard and faced with a summons to meet her face-to-face. His quest? Journey into the forest where most men don’t return and end the life of runaway Snow White.

Snow White and the Huntsman packs starpower with Kristen Stewart, Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron headlining. The second Snow White film this year brings grit, horror and action to the classic fairytale when it opens in theaters everywhere on June 1.
