Director Len Wiseman and Sony Screen Gems have extended an offer to his wife, Kate Beckinsale for one of the two female leads in the Total Recall remake. Colin Farrell has already been cast as the protagonist previously played by Arnold Schwarzenegger.
According to Deadline, Beckinsale has been offered the part of Lori, played by Sharon Stone in the original Total Recall. Lori undergoes quite an extensive character arc that morphs her from a chipper housewife into a deadly killer over the course of the story.
Should Beckinsale be cast as Lori then cries of nepotism are sure to ring out. Not only is she Len’s wife, but she also already worked for her husband in the Underworld films.
Currently Beckinsale is shooting Underworld 4: New Dawn which see’s her returning to a starring role in the franchise after a cameo appearance in the third film.
The other female lead, Melina, is still up for grabs. Deadline additionally reports that Eva Mendes and Rosario Dawson are up near the top of the list.
