Variety is reporting that Juno Temple has officially joined the cast of Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises and will shoot her scenes this summer.
Temple’s character was initially described as a street smart Gotham City girl when Variety first broke the news of Warner Bros. courting her. The official casting report doesn’t shed any additional light on her character, though speculation suggests she could possibly be a sidekick or acquaintance of Anne Hathaway’s Selina Kyle/Catwoman.
Joining Temple in the final Batman film from Nolan are returning cast members Christian Bale, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, and Michael Caine. In addition to Hathaway and Temple, Tom Hardy and Joseph Gordon-Levitt round out the new actors joining the series.
The Dark Knight Rises will begin shooting in the next couple months to hit its July 20, 2012 release date.
