It was only a matter of time before Lost veteran television actor Josh Holloway scored a big movie deal and no surprise that deal is associated with Lost co-creator J.J. Abrams.
Holloway has signed on to Paramount’s Mission Impossible 4 as a member of Tom Cruise’s Impossible Mission Force. Any details regarding his character are being kept in a safe programmed to self destruct if meddled with.
Mission Impossible 4 was originally conceived by J.J. Abrams who then worked with writers Andre Nemec and Josh Appelbaum to turn it into a screenplay. Brad Bird of Pixar’s The Incredibles and The Iron Giant fame is directing with newcomers Holloway, Jeremy Renner, Paula Patton and Vladimir Mashkov joining franchise regulars Cruise, Ving Rhames and Simon Pegg.
Shooting is expected to begin within the next few weeks in Dubai with an expected 400 cast and crew to spend several weeks in the city home to the tallest building on earth. The production will then move to Prague and Vancouver.
Mission Impossible 4 explodes into theaters on December 16, 2011.
