Jet Set Radio to Play and Paint on PS Vita This Summer

Jet Set Radio to Play and Paint on PS Vita This SummerSega is bringing the Dreamcast cell-shaded classic Jet Set Radio to Sony’s PS Vita this summer in addition to the previously announced versions for Xbox Live Marketplace and the Playstation Network.

For PS Vita, Sega wil take full advantage of the device’s touch-control scheme to create a unique version of Jet Set Radio. These controls will provide “new ways for gamers to interact with the environments of Tokyo-to, from touch functionality that makes spraying graffiti more natural to Vita camera integration.” Sega’s Haruki Satomi, Senior Vice President of Digital Business, added that Jet Set Radio’s touch features on PS Vita is a “perfect fit.”

The return of Jet Set Radio on PS Vita, Xbox Live Marketplace and the Playstation Network will feature newly upgraded HD visuals. A firm summer 2012 release date and pricing is still to be announced.

We’ll be checking out a playable version of Jet Set Radio on PS Vita at E3 next week and will let you know how the touch control integration works.
