Jennifer Lawrence is exploring projects away from The Hunger Games and is deep into talks with The Weinstein Company to star in The Ends of the Earth.
Chris Terrio (Argo) penned The Ends of the Earth screenplay based on true events. In the story, Ernest Marland, a wealthy and influential oil tycoon, gets into an affair with his adopted daughter Lydie. Lawrence would play the role of the adopted daughter.
The Ends of the Earth will mark the second feature Jennifer Lawrence and The Weinstein Company have collaborated on. The first, David O. Russell’s The Silver Linings Playbook with Robert De Niro, Julia Stiles, Bradley Cooper and Chris Tucker, will debut on November 21.
Lawrence’s next appearance on the big screen will be the young actress’ first foray into horror. She co-stars with Elisabeth Shue and Max Thieriot in House at the End of the Street, which begins looking for scares on September 21.
Right now Jennifer Lawrence is focused on getting ready to begin shooting The Hunger Games: Catching Fire for Lionsgate. Principal photography is scheduled to get underway in the next few weeks.
After wrapping Catching Fire, Lawrence will return to the world of mutants and begins shooting Fox’s X-Men: Days of Future Past, the sequel to X-Men: First Class.
The Weinstein Company has not released a production schedule or release date for The Ends of the Earth. Considering Jennifer Lawrence’s packed schedule that includes three more The Hunger Games films over the next couple years, the earliest she would shoot would be second quarter 2013 with an early 2014 release.
