Jason Statham is in final negotiations to star in Blitz, a Lionsgate UK production that would return Statham to the streets of London for the first time since The Bank Job.
Per Variety, Statham is on the verge of playing a police officer tasked with tracking down a killer who is targeting London’s police force. Paddy Considine is already on board to play Statham’s would-be partner. No word yet on who will play the killer.
Elliott Lester is on board to direct with his only previous experience being the teen flick Love Is the Drug.
Production on Blitz is set to begin on August 10 with an anticipated 2010 release.
