There’s a new number one best selling home video title at retailer Amazon.com this weekend and it isn’t a DVD.
Warner’s I Am Legend on Blu-ray has shot into the top spot, passing Enchanted, Stargate: The Ark of Truth, and No Country For Men on DVD along the way. While Amazon sales figures can’t be taken as gospel for sales trends, the news of Blu-ray gaining traction is certainly encouraging.
The reason for the I Am Legend sales surge is likely directly linked to the low new pre-order price of only $18.95. That’s 47% off the $35.99 list price, a savings usually reserved only for when Amazon is trying to clean out older stock — not for a pre-order.
