Howard Stern Producing Rock ‘n’ Roll High School Remake

Sirius Satellite Radio shock jock Howard Stern has signed on to co-produce a remake of the 1979 rebellion flick Rock ‘n’ Roll High School with Larry Levinson per a report at Variety.com.

Penning the script is none other than Alex Winter of Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure. He was the guy not Keanu Reeves.

Rock ‘n’ Roll high school marks the second remake film Stern is co-producing with Levinson. The first, Porky’s, is rumored to finally move into production sometime this fall.

“I’ve now done so much stuff in musicvideos, and the Napster movie, that the chance to bridge music and comedy was something that intrigued me,” Winter said. “This movie seemed so ripe for a remake.”

Stern might need the psychological lift after Sirius Satellite Radio stock has plummeted upon FCC approval of a merge with rival XM Satellite Radio.

Currently no timetable is set for release.
