You might need an extra room in your home if you intended to purchase the Hot Toys The Bat 1/6 scale vehicle from The Dark Knight Rises. If that’s too big and/or expensive, maybe The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) or Selina Kyle / Catwoman (Anne Hathaway) will fill in nicely.
Booth setup pictures from Ani-com have begun to make their way online and reveal first-looks at what will be some highly sought after 1/6 scale figures and vehicles when they go up for pre-order. There are also some larger diorama shots that include other figures from The Avengers and The Dark Knight Rises line definitely worth a look.
Starting from small to much, much bigger, the Catwoman figure seems to nail Hathaway’s likeness despite not getting a full look under the mask. She’s in her signature catsuit from the film complete with the high-tech goggles that serve as the cat ears when not in use. Unfortunately no additional pictures of this figure have popped up at this time. Cross your fingers it will go up for pre-order soon and come with some neat accessories and an alternate headsculpt (or the mask and ears are removable).
Next up is The Hulk and that’s exactly what this figure is. The head sculpt is a dead on likeness for Ruffalo’s Hulk. He’s not quite as hunched over as he is in the film and the prototype’s paint job exposes the veins a bit too much. Still, he looks great and appears to have articulation at the heck, shoulders, knees and ankles.
Unfortunately price will probably ending up being an issue with The Hulk. With DX figures costing upward of $300 and this guy towering over the other 12″ figures, His price could meet or exceed $350.
Last but not least is The Bat, a incredibly large 1/6 scale representation of the flying cockroach-looking vehicle that Lucius Fox let Batman take on Bane and his thugs with. The Bat is impressively large when looking at it straight on. When viewed from the side, its enormity is put into perspective.
These first close-up images of The Bat prove it will have the rotor blades on its belly and be able to seat two passengers: Batman DX and Catwoman.
Look for updates when official images and pre-order links are available for the Hot Toys The Bat, Catwoman and The Hulk. I wouldn’t expect any of these new reveals to start shipping until 2013 at the earliest.
