Some of the coolest collectibles to come out of Joss Whedon and Marvel’s insanely successful The Avengers film are the Hot Toys 12″ figures featuring each member from The Avengers team as well as the reason they assembled in the first place, Loki,.
Over the past couple weeks, Hot Toys has previewed a trio of the upcoming figures that will be shipping out over the course of the year and into next. First they previewed Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), designed in-scale to his puny human counterparts. Then they previewed Loki (Tom Hiddleston), a figure that never came out for the Thor film but will arrive in all its earth conquering glory for The Avengers.
Last night, Hot Toys revealed a first look at the Iron Man Mark VII (Robert Downey Jr.) figure that is currently still in the design phase. They are calling it the most sought-after character as well as the most complicated to design. From the image we can see it will include the forearm missile launcher, thigh missile armor and calf thrusters. No word yet on if the wrist laser or back jet-pack will be included.
Sideshow Collectibles is already taking pre-orders for the Hot Toys The Avengers versions of Captain America (Chris Evans), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner). The final figure to be revealed is Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), expected to utilized a new body type.
