Tim Kring isn’t quite done with Heroes in his mind and he is hoping NBC feels the same.
Per TV Guide, Kring will be pitching a Heroes miniseries wrap-up to NBC sometime this month. He claims to have spoken with all the principle cast and all would be eager to return for a curtain call.
The miniseries would be set approximately one year after Claire Bennett (Hayden Panettiere) threw herself off a Ferris wheel in front of the media to end season four. The repercussions of that reveal would be explored.
“There will be a huge cultural and social change in the world,” says Kring. “Some [of our characters] will be hiding, some struggling, some basking in the glory.”
“Claire, who desperately wanted a normal life, will become a reluctant spokesperson for the abnormals,” TV Guide adds. “Sylar (Zachary Quinto) will again struggle with his dark side. And Adrian Pasdar will likely return, though not as Nathan, who died.”
I remain satisfied with how Heroes wrapped up with its offering the perfect bookend to Claire’s first jump off a bridge to begin season one. Even though the latter seasons narrative struggled, I’d have a hard time passing up one last opportunity to see the Heroes in action again.
The ball, it would appear, will soon be in NBC’s court.
