G.I. Joe: Retaliation and ESPN’s Baseball Tonight Collide

G.I. Joe: Retaliation and ESPN's Baseball Tonight CollideESPN has aired some brilliant television spots to promote Sportscenter and their cable sports network over the past several years. The best usually involve a high profile athlete visiting the Sportscenter offices and making a fool of himself trying to fit in.

The latest spot is a tie-in with Paramount’s upcoming sequel/reboot G.I. Joe: Retaliation. Here’s the set up: Baseball Tonight anchors John Kruk and Karl Ravech are starving while hanging out on the side of a cliff. Zooming to them on a zipline with a delivery is Snake Eyes, and that delivery happens to be hot dogs.

Unfortunately for Snake Eyes after he sticks onto the mountain like Spider-Man, Kruk is upset his hot dog has mustard and Ravech is equally dismayed that his dog is missing onions. They toss the dogs and wrappers in disgust, and Snake Eyes drops off the mountain to get more food like he’s their personal Sonic waiter.

G.I. Joe: Retaliation in 3D opens in limited release on March 27 and in theaters everywhere on March 28.
