Lionsgate and Good Morning America are teaming up to offer the world a first look at the full trailer for The Hunger Games movie next Monday, November 14. The trailer will also simultaneously play on the jumbotron in New York City’s Times Square.
With The Hunger Games only four months away from its release, Lionsgate has been stingy about sharing new media from the highly anticipated film starring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth. The teaser trailer was a decent “tease,” but it offered little about the film other than Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen running for her life in the woods.
Josh Hutcherson will be on hand during the Good Morning America segment that introduces The Hunger Games trailer. In the film, Josh plays Peeta Mellark, whom along with Katniss, must fight in the deadly Hunger Games designed by the Government of Panem to kill off all of its entrants until only one remains.
Lionsgate is withholding when The Hunger Games trailer will air during Good Morning America, but it’s a safe bet the full trailer will be circulating the Internet within minutes of its debut.
The Hunger Games hopes to bring Lionsgate out of a box office slump when it kicks off the first of four planned films based on Suzanne Collins’ best-selling young adult books on March 23, 2012.
