Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 for PS3, Xbox 360 and the PC has become the most successfully launched single piece of entertainment ever with global sales already measured in the billions less than a month after its release. For the creative team behind the lucrative franchise, new doors are starting to open.
The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision blog has scooped that Keith Arem, the director of Modern Warfare 2, will next direct his first feature-film titled Frost Road. Arem wrote the screenplay and will also work on a companion graphic novel. No video game tie-in is mentioned.
Similar to Outbreak, Frost Road will follow the stories of the survivors and victims of an invisible contagion that tears through a small Eastern town. A production start date has yet to be announced.
