Fox Comic-Con Plans to Include Wolverine, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, and a Surprise

Fox Comic-Con Plans to Include Wolverine, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, and a SurpriseFox is the last major studio to reveal its 2013 Comic-Con panel line-up. Even after doing so there remains a big hole that all we can do is speculate as to what might fill it.

Kicking off the Fox presentation in Hall H this upcoming Saturday will be The Wolverine with director James Mangold and star Hugh Jackman expected to be on hand to field questions. While Fox will likely unveil new footage and/or clips exclusively for those in attendance, everyone else will get to see the goods when The Wolverine opens in theaters everywhere a mere six days later on July 26.

Representing next year’s Fox plate will be Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, the sequel to the surprising hit Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Director Matt Reeves and actors Andy Serkis (Caesar), along with newcomers Keri Russell and Jason Clarke, will all be present. With Dawn set for release on July 18, 2014, expect Fox to unveil the first teaser trailer and footage for those at the panel.

The third film Fox will be talking about is called “something major” by the studio. Fans would go bonkers if Bryan Singer and the extensive cast of X-Men: Days of Future Past showed up to unveil the first footage. It’s a perfectly logical fit considering the film comes out in less than a year, footage has not been show yet, and the plot is based on a popular comic book arc. It is Comic-Con, after all.

The Fox panel at Comic-Con 2013 will kick off at 4:15pm EST in Hall H. Expect descriptions of the exclusive footage screened to flood the web shortly thereafter.
