Paramount’s Jack Ryan reboot/prequel starring Chris Pine as the intellectual CIA analyst is currently shooting in Manhattan. Little is known about the plot for the prequel that chronicles the early days of the character portrayed in later years by Alex Baldwin, Harrison Ford and Ben Affleck, though he’s presumed to be on the run after being framed for a terrorist plot. Thanks to Paramount we have our first look at a couple characters in action.
The first image features Pine as Ryan and Kevin Costner as a “legendary CIA field agent” while they appear to be exiting a helicopter. Costner looks like he’s got some tactical gear on and is ready for a brawl.
Pine rides solo in the second image – literally – cruising the streets of Manhattan on a motorcycle. He’s got the same outfit on as the first pic so it’s likely part of the same extended sequence.
Pine will be joined by Keira Knightley as his wife, Cathy Ryan, when director Kenneth Branagh’s Jack Ryan hits the big screen on December 25, 2013.
