First Ghost Recon: Future Soldier Details Channel G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra Movie

Ubisoft has unwrapped the first details for the next entry in the ongoing Ghost Recon game series, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, that really put the emphasis on “future.”

As Duke and Ripcord enjoyed in Paramount and Hasbro’s G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra film, an exo-skeleton will allow you to “run, leap, slide and kick farther & faster than any soldier on the field today.” Real-world prototype images of said suits are readily available out on the web.

All the high-tech equipment in Future Soldier will be based on working prototypes that exist today including another one that showed up in Rise of Cobra, the “mind-bending optical camouflage suit.” Scarlett used this suit briefly while fighting the Baroness.

Other new additions and enhancements include more lethal melee combat, ground and air combat drones, personal mortar, linking with squad mates for 360 degree combat at the push of a button, work closely and more efficiently with squadmates when moving as one or using equipment.

Players will join the game as Kozak, a new Ghost recruit thrust into a conflict involving a nationalist coup in Russia that unseats the president. Throughout the game you will change characters Modern Warfare style to portray a high-level bodyguard, an engineer, a civilian and more.

Online play will include 8 vs. 8 adversarial matches balanced class abilities, drones and individual gear; as well as deamless ranking progression in Single, Co-op and Adversarial modes.

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier hits stores this fall. You can gain access to the Xbox 360 multiplayer beta by purchasing Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Conviction, available exclusively on Xbox 360 starting tomorrow, April 13.
