The Captain America: The First Avenger Super Bowl TV spot gave us our first split-second glimpse of Hugo Weaving as the villainous Red Skull. It was a revealing and much appreciated, but nowhere near as cool as what Marvel and Paramount released today via EW.
Below is the first clean look at Red Skull in his Hydra commander duds. Hugo Weaving is buried under that fantastic makeup job and is sure to give Chris Evans as Captain America a run for his money.
Equally as cool as the Red Skull makeup is the black Hydra outfit with overlapping layers of leather forming a fairly complex jacket design. He looks utterly bad-ass in this secret organization regalia and I can’t wait to see him move around and, as importantly, speak.
At some point this month, Marvel and Paramount are expected to release a full two-and-a-half minute trailer for Captain America: The First Avenger. Based on a leaked description of said trailer, Red Skull is already confirmed to make an appearance.
