On April 18, Square Enix will release Final Fantasy XI for the Xbox 360, in addition to the expansion pack Final Fantasy XI: Treasures of Aht Urhgan for Playstation 2 and the PC. Europe and Japan will see both games released 2 days later.
The big news is all three versions will be cross-platform and cross-continent compatible, a first for any video game. So theoretically, an Xbox 360 owner in California could play against a Playstation 2 owner in Tokyo. It’ll be interesting to see how this experiment pans out and what non-MMORG is given the same compatibility.
