Production is underway on Final Destination 5 in Vancouver and New Line has confirmed the final cast and revealed the setting for the traditional opening “cheat death” scene.
The cast is lead by Emma Bell (Frozen) and Nick D’Agosto (Heroes) with supporting roles (re: death bait) going to Miles Fisher (Mad Men and Gossip Girl), Arlen Escarpeta (Friday the 13th), Jacqueline MacInnes Wood (The Bold and the Beautiful), P.J. Byrne (Dinner for Schmucks), Ellen Wroe (Huge), Courtney B. Vance (FlashForward), David Koechner (The Office) and of course the Final Destination anchor, Tony Todd.
The official synopsis reads, “In this fifth installment, Death is just as omnipresent as ever, and is unleashed after one man’s premonition saves a group of coworkers from a terrifying suspension bridge collapse. But this group of unsuspecting souls was never supposed to survive, and, in a terrifying race against time, the ill-fated group frantically tries to discover a way to escape Death’s sinister agenda.”
I’m guessing that bridge is Vancouver’s famous Capilano Suspension Bridge, a top tourist attraction and quite freaky to cross as seen below. Final Destination 5 is expected in theaters on August 26, 2011 in 2D and 3D formats.
