Fast & Furious 6 Super Bowl Commercial Smokes the Competition; More Footage Tuesday

Fast & Furious 6 Super Bowl Commercial Smokes the Competition; More Footage TuesdayUniversal’s Fast & Furious 6 had an advantage over its fellow Super Bowl commercials promoting upcoming films such as Iron Man 3, The Lone Ranger, Oz The Great and Powerful and Star Trek Into Darkness. Those films have all had trailers already. The public hasn’t seen a lick of Fast & Furious 6 official footage with the only decent glimpse into the film coming from Vin Diesel’s Facebook page.

Even without the element of surprise there was no contest in which studio and film franchise brought the best goods to the Super Bowl. The Fast & Furious 6 spot stole the show with impressive set-pieces include cars toppling a massive airplane while it’s moving down the runaway. There’s also a tank and its armed and dangerous while taking on Dom and friends on a highway.

To end the spot on the perfect note, the world got to see that Letty (Michelle Rodriguez) is alive and well, and as it turns out part of the problem Dom, his crew, and his new employer Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) have to deal with in order to win their freedom from the law with a full pardon.

An extended look at the Fast & Furious 6 trailer is coming tomorrow morning. Buckle those seat belts.
