This holiday season’s most twisted first-person shooter isn’t out in stores yet, but all indications are that Ubisoft saved the best for last in the Far Cry franchise. They also haven’t sugarcoated anything about Far Cry 3; it involves crazed mercenaries, drugs, four-letter words-a-plenty, and fighting off all sorts of nature’s most ferocious beasts.
While some other franchises might rely on cinematic cut-scene trailers, Ubisoft dispenses with the glamour in this new nearly three and a half minute Far Cry 3 multiplayer gameplay trailer. Through gameplay, and only gameplay, the trailer introduces some of the multiplayer features such as battle cries and finishing moves, as well as support weapons and a new previously announced gameplay mode: Firestorm.
Over three minutes is a long time so expect quite a few kills. And maybe a couple laughs. This is Far Cry, after all.
Far Cry 3 arrives for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 on December 4.
