Along with announcing Fable III is coming to Xbox 360 next year, Microsoft and Lionhead Studios detailed plans to offer Fable II as episodic downloadable content.
Fable II: Game Episodes will launch on September 29 with the first of five chapters available for free download via Xbox Live Marketplace. When the chapter is completed, the option will be available to download four additional chapters that complete the Fable II game.
The episodic version of Fable II is fully compatible with the previously released DLC add-on packs Knothole Island and See the Future. It is also compatible with the retail disc-based version in case that is purchased after the first free episode instead of the DLC version.
