To coincide with E3 2011 this week, 2K Games has released the first footage from XCOM, a reinvention of the classic PC game being developed by 2K Marin.
The surprisingly enjoyable trailer focuses on an otherworldly enemy threat and the power it harnesses. To defeat the enemy, stealing that power and turning it against them is the only hope. There’s also something going on with geometric shapes that form weapons and somehow take over the body of humans.
I’ll have more to share on XCOM after seeing it firsthand at E3 in a couple days. Enjoy the XCOM trailer below and look for the game in stores for Xbox 360, PS3 and the PC on March 6, 2012.
