Per a new listing at online retailer DVDEmpire.com, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment plans to release the Ashton Kutcher comedy Dude, Where’s My Car? on Blu-ray Disc with a street date of August 26.
Dude, Where’s My Car? is one of several titles Fox had originally planned for a Blu-ray bow in the first quarter of 2007. It was indefinitely shelved shortly after being announced at CES when the studio entered a six-month Blu-ray hiatus lasting throughout the summer.
Ashton’s starring role in What Happens in Vegas likely controlled the new release date for Dude, Where’s My Car? on Blu-ray. By releasing it on the same date as What Happens in Vegas on Blu-ray, also a Fox title, the studio can advertise both simultaneously under Ashton’s image.
Fox will present Dude, Where’s My Car? on Blu-ray in widescreen 2.35:1 1080p video and 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio. Supplemental feature details likely won’t be available until the studio makes an official announcement.
Dude, Where’s My Car? on Blu-ray will carry an SRP of $39.98. Check back regularly for high resolution cover art and pre-order information.
