Tonight at midnight, Sony Pictures will break down the barricades and begin screening Neill Blomkamp’s District 9 across the country.
Having seen District 9 I have no hesitation endorsing what Blomkamp, Peter Jackson, Sharlto Copley and the rest of the cast and crew have accomplished. The film is one of the stronger and most creative sci-fi efforts of recent memory, guaranteed to leave a lasting impression long after the credits roll.
I have cobbled together a gallery of high resolution District 9 stills to get all of you fired up to see it tonight or this weekend. Even with a modest $30 million budget, District 9 needs a lot of support to light a fire at Columbia TriStar and within Neill to purse a much needed sequel.
