For the first time in the existence of the Xbox, Microsoft will offer Xbox Live free of charge for the entire week during E3. From Monday May 8th until Sunday May 14th, users worldwide are invited to share online goodies that, until now, were only experienced by the geeks physically at the expo. Some of the content includes the first-ever Gears of War HD game trailer, a playable demo of Lost Planet: Extreme Condition by Capcom and a few “Game with Fame” sessions with celebrity names such as Dave Navarro, Method Man and Jenny McCarthy.
Xbox 360 fans will be treated to over 60 separate pieces of downloadable high-definition content including playable demos and trailers for:
Other content will include Call of Duty 2 multiplayer map packs, Uno for Xbox Live arcade, HD movie trailers, limited edition E3 gamerpics and themes, and behind-the-scenes footage of the developers prepping for E3.
Did anyone else notice that Dead or Alive: Xtreme 2 was on that list? Until now, there has been no official confirmation that the title would ever come to fruition, simply rumors. I think we’ll consider that the official announcement.
With this offer, previously exclusive E3 goodies can be viewed by a wider audience than just the industry-only attendees anymore. Hell, the TMR staff may not even fly out to LA now… but then we wouldn’t be hanging out with models on the Sunset Strip while you’re still playing Xbox Live that night.
