Showtime has hit a new gear in their publicity efforts for the eighth and final season of Dexter. The latest evidence to support this comes in the form of not one, but two new teaser videos and an official synopsis for what lies ahead.
The first teaser video examines the many faces of Dexter Morgan, some seen by his family, friends and co-workers, and others seen only by those about to go under the knife. In Dexter’s words this could all lead to a “dead end,” illustrated by the serial killer finding himself in a position his victims know all too well.
The many faces of Deb are the focus in the second video. She starts seemingly happy and then slowly slips into a frightening and troubled existence, walking a fine line between sanity and insanity. Thank Dexter Morgan and his immeasurable sibling baggage for that.
Here’s the first official synopsis for Dexter: Season 8 that sets the table for what’s to come as the end game plays out. It includes minor spoilers so proceed at your own risk.
Season eight begins six months after LaGuerta-s murder – and Dexter is still managing life as a dad, brother, and serial killer. As Deb struggles to deal with the consequences of her actions, a mysterious woman comes to work with Miami Metro, offering first-hand information on Dexter’s past.
Dexter: Season 8 premieres Sunday, June 30 at 9/8c.
