New blood is coming to Dexter season 6 and it will be up to the Miami Police blood splatter specialist to sort out who’s a friend to pat on the back, and who’s a threat to put on the table.
Showtime has released a new featurette called ‘Guest Stars’ that introduces the four main new characters joining the show this season. Seasons past have taught us that the probability of high profile new characters lasting beyond a single season is slim, but maybe one or two of them will beat the odds.
First up is Brother Sam played by Mos Def, a man whose reform through religion catches Dexter’s eye. Following the religion theme, Colin Hanks and Edward James Olmos play a student and his professor mentor, respectively, who use religion for more dangerous acts.
Aimee Garcia joins the cast as Jamie Batista, Angel’s younger sister. She’s taking over the nanny duties for Harrison and could offer a rare positive influence in the little guy’s life.
Last but not least is Billy Brown as Mike Anderson, a hardcore detective from Chicago who brings a no nonsense attitude to the department missing since Doakes was blasted off the show.
Dexter season 6 premieres on Sunday, October 2 at 9pm EST/PST on Showtime.
