EA and Crytek GmbH’s Crysis 2 is coming this holiday season to the PC. Unlike the original graphic mongering Crysis, the sequel will also be appearing on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
In addition to confirming multi-platform support, EA has announced that renowned sci-fi author Richard Morgan is writing the story for Crysis 2. Richard wrote the best-selling novels ‘Altered Carbon’ and ‘Broken Angels.’
Here’s what we know about the Crysis 2 narrative thus far. The game will place players into the concrete jungle of New York City which is under attack by aliens with “deadly weaponry, exceptional sensory abilities and intelligent collaboration.” EA promises these enemies will be the most difficult to face in any first-person shooter game as you battle them in the one-of-a-kind Nanosuit 2 and encounter narrative twists and turns in an at least partially destroyed metropolis.

Crysis 2 is being built on the all-new CryENGINE 3 designed to handle multiple platforms.
