Today Sony Pictures Home Entertainment formally announced the June 22 release of Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs on Blu-ray 3D. Its arrival marks the first film to be sold individually at retail on the new Blu-ray 3D format.
The set will include both the new 3D presentation (1080p video to both eyes) and 2D presentation on a single disc, both with 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio. Previews for upcoming Sony Blu-ray 3D releases Open Season and Monster House are also included.
The film’s bonus features will be modeled off the previously available Blu-ray release with the aforementioned trailers tacked on. Retail pricing has been set at $39.95 which should bring the on-shelf price in under $30.
