Clint Eastwood and Amy Adams Joined by Justin Timberlake in Baseball FlickWarner Bros. has signed up Justin Timberlake to join Clint Eastwood and Amy Adams in Trouble With the Curve, a new baseball drama.

In the film, Eastwood plays an aging baseball scout trying to juggle the demanding hunt for new talent while maintaining a relationship with his daughter (Adams). The daughter is an attorney moving up the ranks and on the verge of becoming a partner in her firm.

While it might seem like Timberlake would play a young baseball player that Eastwood is recruiting, he’s expected to play a younger scout who might also be a love interest with Adams. If that’s the case, I could see Eastwood and Timberlake continually butting heads over both their industry and the woman they both want in their lives for different reasons.

For Timberlake, Trouble With the Curve is another step toward becoming a Hollywood fixture. Since his surprise performance as Sean Parker in David Fincher’s The Social Network, he’s appeared alongside Mila Kunis in Friends With Benefits, Cameron Diaz in Bad Teacher and Amanda Seyfried in In Time.

Clint Eastwood is making his first appearance in front of the camera since starring in his own Gran Torino in 2008.

Production is slated to get underway on Trouble With the Curve in Atlanta next month, the same month spring training will be in full swing in Major League Baseball. The film is scheduled for release in 2013, likely timed with the beginning of that year’s baseball season.
