Chris Nolan’s Inception Snares Joseph Gordon-Levitt

I would have thought Joseph Gordon-Levitt would have a tough time topping his geek-infused role as Cobra Commander in the upcoming GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra movie. Turns out his next big project could potentially be huge.

Joseph has signed on to co-star in Chris Nolan’s mysterious Inception project over at Warner Brothers. The Hollywood Reporter quotes sources as describing the heavily guarded script and concept as being a “contemporary sci-fi actioner set within the architecture of the mind.”

Joseph is taking a role once though locked by James Franco who was forced to pass due to scheduling conflicts. You know you’re doing well when turning down the next written and directed project by the man behind the second highest grossing film of all time.

Joseph joins headlining star Leonardo DiCaprio, Marion Cotillard who is playing Leo’s wife, Ellen Page and Nolan vet Cillian Murphy.

Principal photography is expected to kick off this summer for an anticipated 2010 release.
