Children Of The Corn To Be Seeded Again

The original Children Of The Corn’s redux has been plagued with production problems since the idea’s inception. At one time it was actually rumored the project was terminally canned.

Now it seems we will be traveling between the rows once more with a story closer to Stephen King original short. If you recall, the first film angered Mr. King and ‘Corn’ enthusiasts with its deviations.

Writer, producer and director Donald P. Borchers says, “Stephen King doesn’t take his coffee with sugar. They put a lot of sugar, if you will, into the coffee,” he says.” It’s no longer requisite to have a happy ending.”

Filming is scheduled to commence next month in Iowa where the 1984 film was shot. The area is being scouted for locations now.

Children of the Corn will air on the Sci-Fi Channel stateside and theatrically in Europe which leaves us wondering if an unrated cut is destined for home video. Look for the corn to turn green sometime next year.
