Capcom Developing ‘Street Fighter IV’

Capcom today announced the first Street Fighter game in nearly 8 years, Street Fighter IV, is currently in development for unspecified gaming consoles. The last Street Fighter game released by the publisher was Street Fighter III Third Strike, if you can remember back that far.

This news comes after a preview trailer was released back in October so it isn’t necessarily a surprise, but we do learn a few details about the game. Four classic fighters are set to return: Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, and Dhalsim. The game has been designed with 3D characters that fight in a 2D environment, with occasional 3D camera flourishes. Six-button control will be present and accounted for, along with a host of new moves and features we’ll certainly learn about later.
