Today is June 16 which marks a momentous day for the Ghostbusters franchise. The original film celebrates its 25th anniversary while a new film is being prepped to relaunch the franchise.
The big news specific to today are the Ghostbusting options you can bring home for the first time. On the movie side, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has released the original Ghostbusters film in high definition for the first time. Granted, it looks its age, but you’ve never seen the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man look this good before.

On the game side, Atari has published Terminal Reality’s Ghostbusters: The Videogame on Playstation 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii and DS, and Playstation 2. The game is faithful to the films in that it nearly perfectly captures the experience of throwing on a Proton Pack and busting ghosts. Several characters from the films make surprise appearances in the game. I’ll say no more.
