Tired of replaying the same maps on Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare over and over again? Well, Activision and Infinity Ward have heard your cries and aim to do something about it.
Today Activision officially announced development is underway on new downloadable maps for Call of Duty 4. The maps will all be used for multiplayer gameplay and presumably be available for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
“We’ve demonstrated our commitment to delivering the best multiplayer experience in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and that continues with our plans for new downloadable content,” explains Infinity Ward’s Community Manager, Robert Bowling. “We’re excited about the new maps, and the added gameplay variety, and we can’t wait to wrap things up and get online with everyone.”
Unfortunately, Activision and Infinity Ward failed to provide a time frame for release, pricing, or number of maps to be made available. Rest assured this “intel” will be forthcoming and we’ll be sure to pass it along pronto.
