Blu-ray Rise and Shine with Gangs of New York’s Cameron Diaz

TheHDRoom is proud to introduce an all-new weekly pictoral feature we originally tested at TheManRoom, Blu-ray Rise and Shine. Each week we’ll feature our favorite actress starring in a Blu-ray Disc title releasing the same week. The feature will be comprised of actress images and a current tally on how many Blu-rays she’s appeared in to-date.

First up is Cameron Diaz, realistically the last name you think of when topics surrounding Gangs of New York come up. She was thoroughly out-classed by Daniel Day-Lewis and Leonardo DiCarpio, able to offer little beyond her good looks to the intense drama.

A better fit for Diaz are comedies and action infused with comedy, like There Something About Mary and Charlie’s Angels. It’s hard not to think about Mary and be reminded of the discovery Cameron made in her hair.

Gangs of New York marks Cameron’s second appearance on Blu-ray Disc after The Holiday. Her voice can be heard in Shrek the Third but we’re not really counting that because you can’t see her. We will soon count What Happens in Vegas, coming to Blu-ray later this year.

Buena Vista’s Gangs of New York will be available Tuesday, July 1 on Blu-ray Disc.
