Four of Playstation 3’s most anticipated games due later this year or early next all appeared simultaneously for pre-order at Amazon.com on Sunday.
It is too early to examine the sales data and declare one game is more popular than the next. So far, Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack In Time is leading the pack by sitting at the 128 videogame hourly bestsellers slot.
Locked into slot 134 is Activision’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Next is God of War III at 144 and then Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed II at 186.
Of the four, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is the only one with a release date listed: November 10. Assassin’s Creed 2 is already promised by Ubisoft for release by year’s end and Ratchet & Clank is also scheduled for a 2009 release.
God of War III is the big question mark as the latest word from Sony suggests a 2010 release. Things can change and perhaps Sony will sneak this one out the door sooner than anyone expects. Unlikely, but not to be ruled out just yet.
