The acquisition of id Software by ZeniMax Media, the parent company of Bethesda Softworks of Fallout 3 fame, paved the way for future id Software titles to move from previous announced publishing partners to under the ZeniMax umbrella.
The latest example comes with Zenimax annoucing id Software’s Rage for Xbox 360, PS3 and the PC will no longer be published by Electronic Arts and instead will be released under the Bethesda Softworks banner. EA is no longer associated with the marketing or sales of the game in any way, shape or form.
Rage is the newest intellectual property from the same minds who created Doom and Quake. Like those games, it is an intense first-person shooter with all sorts of deformed and disgusting creatures to blast away at.
A timetable for Rage’s release has yet to be set.
