Ben Affleck’s Batman Will Be “Seasoned” in Superman vs. Batman

Ben Affleck's Batman Will Be Seasoned in Superman vs. BatmanBen Affleck’s Batman will have a lot more experience fighting bad guys than Henry Cavill’s Superman in Zack Snyder’s Superman vs. Batman.

According to Variety, Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsujihara spoke at an investor’s meeting last week and called the next caped crusader, “tired and weary and seasoned and been doing it for awhile.” He also called Affleck “perfect” for the role and said the film in general “is going to be huge.”

Warner Bros. is shrugging off all the negativity surrounding Affleck’s casting on the Internet and moving forward with Snyder’s vision for the film regardless. If Batman is indeed “tired and weary” after a long career of crime fighting, then 41-year old Affleck fits perfectly into that mold. At the same time, he’s young enough to play Bruce Wayne and Batman in several more films, including The Justice League.

Superman vs. Batman, or Batman vs. Superman – neither is 100 percent confirmed as finalized – will be released on July 17, 2015. The story is by Zack Snyder and David S. Goyer, with Goyer writing the screenplay.
