Yesterday Electronic and and Visceral Games formally announced the next entry in the Battlefield series of games is Battlefield Hardline and it will be available to own this upcoming fall.
Not long after the announcement was made, someone leaked a roughly seven-minute trailer that EA was waiting until June 9 at noon PST to unveil. The cat is out of the bag way early on this one, and thus far EA hasn’t pulled this particular leaked trailer, though they have pulled some mirrors. If you want to watch it, watch it fast.
The trailer shows us a game that looks a lot like Battlefield 4 with Michael Bay explosion-filled action with the added twists of heists. EA refers to the multiplayer as being a “cops and criminal fantasy” in the trailer as the criminals try to successfully rob a bank and the cops try to stop them and save the hostages in Heist mode and its counterpart, Rescue mode.
Hotwire mode takes the vehicular path with car chases, while Bloodmoney mode looks like it’s all about grabbing a stash of loot.
Look for more on Battlefield Hardline to surface at E3 in a couple weeks.
