Fox has released the Comic-Con sizzle reel for Rise of the Planet of the Apes which is chock full of new footage. You can watch it in its entirety below, but beware as there are some definite spoilers lurking throughout.
While the recent trailers and TV spots for Rise of the Planet of the Apes have focused on Caesar’s upbringing, the Comic-Con footage is almost entirely about the ape revolution that Caesar leads. If you ever wondered what it would look like if apes ran wild through and on top of a city, or what would happen if an ape and a policeman on a horse go head-to-head, then this should satisfy that curiosity.
The spoilers come in the form of what happens when the ape jumps off the Golden Gate Bridge onto a helicopter (as seen in pretty much every trailer to date), who was on a helicopter, and what ultimately happens to that person. I’m frankly surprised Fox showed this snippet at all.
Rise of the Planet of the Apes starring James Franco, Brian Cox, John Lithgow, Freida Pinto and Tom Felton will help wind down the summer movie season when it invades theaters on August 5.
