Another Sony Blu-ray software release date shuffle

As Blu-ray Disc’s debut nears, Sony continues to shuffle titles around the release date calendar like a deck of cards.

Only a couple weeks ago, “Robocop” vanished from all press materials after having been announced as a June 27 title, complete with cover art. Sony was mum when asked about the title’s fate so we dismissed the disappearance as a marketing slip-up.

Then a few days ago, recently announced “Black Hawk Down,” “Sense and Sensibility” and “The Big Hit” vanished from their August 15 slot, leaving “Memento” all by its lonesome. Again, Sony refused to comment when asked about the mysterious ‘now you see it, now you don’t’ titles.

Today the shuffling continues with the sudden appearance of “Robocop” and “Into the Blue” aka Jessica Alba in a bikini in high-def, as August 15 titles. And yet there’s still no word on where the three previous titles scheduled for that day ran off to. Will they appear a week or two later? Or even months later?

Your guess is as good as ours.
