Alice in Wonderland jumped from the pages of Lewis Carroll’s novel long before Johnny Depp lost his marbles as the Mad Hatter. The year was 1951 and Alice, along with all the other fantastical Wonderland characters and creations, were brought to life through hand-drawn animation. To celebrate the film’s 60th anniversary, Disney has digitally restored the animated classic for a Blu-ray high definition debut on February 1.
Alice in Wonderland’s Blu-ray debut will be of the combo pack variety with a second disc included the DVD version. Several new bonus features are joining all the previously released DVD bonus features to mark the film’s anniversary. They are:
- Through the Keyhole: A Companion’s Guide to Wonderland – View the movie in this special mode and discover references to the original Lewis Carroll classic – introduced by the voice of Alice, Kathryn Beaumont
- Disney View – Watch the movie in this expanded viewing experience
- Painting the Roses Red Interactive Game
- Walt Disney Color TV Introduction (1959) – A never-before-seen color TV intro by Walt
