Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell), Paul Rudd (Brian Fantana), Brick Tamland (Steve Carell) and Champ Kind (David Koechner) reunite on a bright stage once more to offer us “fat faces” a new one-minute Anchorman 2 teaser trailer complete with venomous cologne and completely inappropriate remarks. An extended promo spot would be a more appropriate description of this new “trailer,” but we’ll take anything that puts new material in front of the Channel 4 news team.
Fantana and Tamland deliver the best bits of the trailer, starting with a now bearded Fantana revealing the new cologne he’s wearing. It’s not only snake venom, but 100 percent snake venom. That’s got to hurt during application, right? I pity the woman that runs into that during a close encounter.
When Tamland comes on, he offers up his usually clueless remark, this time wishing us all a “Happy Easter.” After some prodding by Burgundy to offer an individual thought or a catchphrase, Tamland tells us to “always make sure the parents are around if you hug a child.”
If that’s not enough, Burgundy caps the teaser trailer by calling out to us with “Hey! Fat face!” before telling us to “stay classy.” That’s the Ron Burgundy we all know and love.
Anchorman 2, formerly known as Anchorman: The Legend Continues, will also feature Kristen Wiig, Christina Applegate, Harrison Ford, Vince Vaughn, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Liam Neeson, and a slew of other cameos that will be fun to spot. The sequel to Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy hopes to dominate the holiday season at the box office when it debuts on December 20, 2013.
