Amazon Cuts ‘Guitar Hero III’ Wii Price

Online retailer Amazon.com has slashed the price of Activision’s Guitar Hero III for Nintendo Wii by 17 percent. The move has sent the bundle into the top sales spot for all of videogames on the site.

The cut sends the price from $89.99 down to $74.99, making it the most affordable version of Guitar Hero III including the PS3, PS2 and Xbox 360 versions.

Many multiple console owner would have already opted for the superior Xbox 360 or PS3 versions with the added benefit of downloadable content and digital audio. This, combined with a months’ later release, may have contributed to slower sales for the Wii version that lead to the price cut.

We can’t tell if the price cut is a permanent move, but in the interim it’s clearly spurring some major sales.
